The f300 movement was developed by ESA, an update by Max Hetzel of the original Bulova tuning fork . ESA supplied these to many companies inc; Longines, IWC, Baume & Mercier, Tissot, Omega, etc…Omega were their largest customer by far, all Omega movements have a gilt finish compared to the Geneve stripes of the other marques. The Omega f300 chronometers were tested to mechanical movements standards and they easily pass. Although more accurate than mechanical movements, tuning fork movements were quickly replaced by quartz movements, which became cheaper to produce and more accurate.

# Omega Constellation Electronic F300Hz Review by A.I. WatchMetrics
## Watch Summary
The Omega Constellation Electronic F300Hz is a vintage 1970s dress watch renowned for its pie-pan dial with applied indices, railroad minute track, and subtle constellation motif at 6 o'clock, targeting collectors and enthusiasts of transitional horology; it features the groundbreaking Cal. 1300 tuning fork electronic movement beating at 300 Hz for mechanical-like accuracy of ±1 second per day, powered by a battery with approximately 365 days reserve.
## Overall Watch Rating: 7.6/10.0
**Movement Metric (9.6/10.0)** - The Cal. 1300's high-frequency tuning fork delivers superior accuracy and innovation akin to top-tier vintage mechanicals like early Grand Seikos.
**History & Innovation Metric (9.3/10.0)** - Pioneering electronic technology in the pre-quartz era with exceptional accuracy breakthroughs, on par with Omega's own Speedmaster milestones.
**Cohesiveness Metric (9.0/10.0)** - Every element from claws to pie-pan dial integrates seamlessly, rivaling the unified elegance of Patek Philippe Calatravas.
**Dials & Design Metric (9.1/10.0)** - Iconic pie-pan layout with refined vintage aesthetics stands out like classic Jaeger-LeCoultre Reversos in visual appeal.
**Brand Metric (8.8/10.0)** - Omega's prestigious luxury heritage and craftsmanship match the caliber of modern Tudors or Longines flagships.
**Versatility Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Suits formal and casual vintage looks effectively, similar to a versatile Hamilton Khaki Field.
**Material Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Solid stainless steel construction with hesalite crystal offers good durability but trails sapphire-equipped peers like current Omegas.
**Rarity Metric (6.4/10.0)** - Moderately scarce on the vintage market, less elusive than limited-edition Grand Seikos but scarcer than common Seiko divers.
**Functions Metric (5.0/10.0)** - Basic time and date suffice for daily wear, on level with entry-level mechanical dress watches.
**Complications Metric (3.9/10.0)** - Simple date window provides minimal added utility, comparable to no-frills Datejusts without further features.
## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.0
## WM Collector Grade: B
## Performance Insights: Exceptional movement and history scores drive value, tempered by basic functions and complications, offering strong performance well below its $51,500 implied price.
## TPS Interpretation: Fair Value: The watch delivers solid vintage innovation and design exceeding modest expectations at its accessible secondary market price.
